Positions for Master students who want to
do an internship in Chemical Biology are available.
We are currently looking for a chemistry student with a
background/prior experience in organic synthesis who wants to perform a
Master Thesis at the interface of organic chemistry and
biochemistry. The aim of this project is to synthesize
activity-based probes and short fluorogenic substrates by solid- and
solution-phase synthesis. The molecules to be synthesized will carry
fluorophores, photoreactive groups and cleavable linkers and will be
applied as tools to study the activity and the interaction partners of
intramembrane proteases using various established biochemistry assays.
Congratulations to (now Dr.) Oliver Vosyka for his PhD graduation! He
successfully defended his thesis, and (since January) continues his
scientific career at the Helmholtz Institute München - September 26, 2013.
