IFAMA presents Fellow Award to Professor Vera BitschCategory: Award, Research
The International Food and Agribusiness Management Association has awarded a Fellow Award to Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Vera Bitsch from the TUM School of Life Sciences.
Only active supporters of the association who have made outstanding contributions to the management of the food and agricultural industry in at least two of the four following categories are appointed as a Fellow: Practice of management in the food and/or agricultural industry, research and scholarship, teaching and/or academic administration, and service to the IFAMA.
The IFAMA homepage states: “Since its inception, the IFAMA has been successful thanks to the vision, hard work, and creative efforts of a few key individuals. These individuals have distinguished themselves as leaders in the food and agricultural industries as well as in the service of the IFAMA”.
Professor Vera Bitsch mainly conducts research with qualitative approaches in the field of agricultural economics and management. She is also active in method development and in the national doctoral program in agricultural economics. In July 2020, she was appointed to the Future Commission on Agriculture by the Federal Cabinet. She is also a member of the Hans Eisenmann Forum for Agricultural Sciences, which is a central institute of the TUM.
